SPIROERGOMETRY
Spiroergometry consists of two components, the ergometry, a stress test, and the spirometry, a procedure to measure and record the lungs capacity and respiratory volume. In the patients with cardiovascular diseases their individual performance can be examined and their maximal performance can be determined. Therefore it enables a diffentiation of lungs or heart diseases in patients with shortness of breath. At the same time the spiroergometry helps professional sportsmen to record their current performance pattern by a simultaneous (when possible) measurement of lactate values.
